Meet Elisabeta Dascalu
Ciao! My name is Elisabeta Dascalu, but many know me simply as Elly. I’m a professional pastry chef with many years of experience working in some of Italy’s finest kitchens, where I mastered the art of creating desserts that are as beautiful as they are delicious. From classic Italian pastries to intricate modern French entremets, my work is a tribute to craftsmanship, creativity, simplicity, quality, authenticity and love for tradition.
I was born in Romania and raised in Italy, where food is not just a necessity—it’s a way of life, a way of connecting with people. Working in Italian restaurants gave me a deep understanding of authentic flavours, precision techniques, and, most of all, the joy of sharing something made with care.
When I moved to the UK, I brought my skills, my creativity, and my cultural heritage with me. Starting over in a new country was a challenge, but it also opened my eyes to a new dream: bringing a slice of real Italian pastry culture to this side of the world. I quickly realised how much people here appreciate quality and authenticity—two things I never compromise on in my kitchen.

A Dream Turned Mission
My goal now is to open my own online pastry shop, where I can offer handcrafted Italian and French desserts made with premium ingredients, and a lot of heart. Every cake and pastry I make tells a story—a story of tradition, of travel, and of passion.
I’m currently studying business management at university and preparing for Patisserie and confectionery Level 3 at college to make this dream a sustainable reality. The business and management will help my to build a strong business with the right skills Patisserie and confectionery will help me to add English professional technic and skills to my background Italian and France knowledge
I want to build something meaningful—not just a business, but a space that brings people together through taste and culture.
What inspires me the most is the chance to give back to the community. I want to be more than a baker—I want to be a bridge between cultures, introducing people here in the UK to the unforgettable taste of authentic Italian pastry. Whether it’s a perfect tiramisu , a soft and fragrant panettone, or a delicate millefoglie, I want to share more than just dessert—I want to share memories, comfort, and joy.
